Description Job Overview:
The Digital Retoucher is responsible for editing product and editorial images in a fast-paced, high volume Studio. Advanced knowledge of Adobe Photoshop CS and the ability to work quickly and efficiently is required. A portfolio of current work demonstrating
expertise in photo retouching is necessary to be considered for the position. Candidate must be deadline driven, detail oriented, and have a positive and enthusiastic attitude. Reports to Head Photographer.
- Edit a high volume of product images for use online under tight deadlines.
- Have a professional understanding of clipping images & using the pen tool
- Follow procedures for naming, saving, and archiving images.
- Maintain and Manipulate images with a understanding of commercial level quality
- Maintain an efficient workflow with the ability to follow a defined process accurately and consistently.
- Take creative direction from Directors/Managers to achieve high quality photos.
- Digital Asset Management.
- Utilize proprietary digital asset management tools throughout the editing process.
- 2+ years of professional editing.
- Knowledge of Photoshop CS with an understanding of pen, curves, levels, color balance, masking, actions, and other various tools and adjustments.
- Capture One and Phase One / Canon Equipment.
- Strong visual skills with attention to detail and an eye for consistency and color.
- Knowledge of retouching skin tone and matching color.
- Ability to work quickly without sacrificing overall image quality.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Understanding of digital photography and studio light.
- Portfolio of current work demonstrating skill in photo retouching.

The Palm Springs Photography Festival will take place May 6-11.
The Strong Workforce Grant is covering the following:
Daily Registration Fee from May 6-11th.
“All seminar pass” for activities May 6-11

Hotel stay (1 person per room) for 5 nights, starting May 6th.
Breakfast, lunch, and Dinner on May 6th -11th (only covered within approved limits listed below)
Van Rental for the whole group to travel from Chula Vista to Palm Springs and back. Anyone not staying the entire time would have to provide their own transportation.
Anything else would cost extra including Workshops and Portfolio Reviews. Individuals would have to pay their own ways for those activities.

Food is Reimbursed to a max of $45 per day with these limits:
$8 for Breakfast
$12 for Lunch
$25 for Dinner
All food purchased must have receipts submitted for verification.
Any receipts showing alcohol cannot be including as part of reimbursement. Grant money cannot be used to purchase alcohol.
It may take a month or two to get reimbursements.

What to Enter
Any photograph first published or produced from March 2017 through March 2018 is eligible. Entries may originate from any country. Explanation of the function in English is very important to the judges. Submission of entries acknowledges the right of Communication Arts to use them for publication and exhibition.
Photography Competition Categories
These categories are judged by the Photography jury and will appear in the Photography Annual. For a list of fees, please download the category PDF:
Advertising: ads, posters, music and product packaging, etc.
Books: covers, jackets, interiors, etc.
Editorial: consumer or trade magazines, newspapers, etc.
For Sale: posters, prints, greeting cards, licensing/stock, gallery sale, online store, etc.
Institutional: company/association publications, annual reports, catalogs, client websites, blogs, etc.
Motion/Cinematography: time-based media for film, television, video or web, etc.
Self-Promotion: promotion for photographers, design firms, ad agencies, art schools, printers, paper companies, etc.
Unpublished: experimental/personal work not published.
Student Work: photography or cinematography projects created for school assignments.
Entries must be registered no later than Midnight (Pacific Standard Time), March 9, 2018. Entries registered after that date require a late fee of $10 per entry. No entries can be registered after March 23, 2018.
Each photograph is a single entry. A printed piece with several photographs must have a dot or some other mark indicating which specific single photograph is to be judged. If a single photograph isn’t indicated, the entry will be disqualified.
Campaigns or series are limited to five photographs. If the entry has more than five photographs, indicate which five are to be judged. If this isn’t indicated, the entry will be disqualified.

We are constantly bringing new products to market, and we’re looking for a Product Photographer capable of taking stunning photos that will turn online shoppers into buyers. Beautiful pure white background product shots that stand out from the competition are our bread and butter, but we’re also looking for lifestyle shots and video assets. In addition to product photography, this role will involve graphic design work including general creative asset creation as well as product packaging and materials design.
You’ll work across our entire brand portfolio, and will get the opportunity to work on real consumer brands sold through a variety of channels including retail stores, our own websites, and Amazon.com. This is a chance to move the needle and do work that matters.
