Medium Festival Of Photography – Artist Lectures And More – sign up by 8am on 4/18

We are proud to announce we have opportunities for students to attend the Medium Festival Of Photography this semester. Because of a StrongWorkforce Grant, we are able to provide the registration fees for the lectures and events below.

3 Students will receive a Student Festival Pass.

The 2022 Festival Pass includes all lectures with guest artists and the tour of exhibition spaces in Tijuana on May 8. Festival Pass holders receive the following:

  • Access to all artist lectures on Saturday, May 7, including the keynote lecture with Lyle Ashton Harris at 7pm
  • Tour of artist studios and exhibition spaces in Tijuana on May 8 (valid passport required)
  • Open portfolio night from 6:30 – 9:30pm on Thursday, May 5
  • Canvas tote with 2022 Medium Photo graphic

10 Students will receive tickets to the Lyle Ashton Harris Lecture (Keynote Speaker), 5/7, 7:00 pm
– This includes a separate student only roundtable meeting with Lyle on 5/7, 3pm

5 Students will receive tickets to the Amanda Marchand Lecture (Second Sight Award), 5/7, 9:30 am

5 Students will receive tickets to the Don Bartletti Lecture, 5/7, 11:00 am

Before signing up for this event, everyone should read the following Covid Protocols:
To protect the safety of everyone attending the event, proof of vaccination is required for all eligible individuals to attend the Medium Review and Festival of Photography. We ask attendees to wear masks for all indoor events, given the spread of the Covid BA.2 variant in spring 2022.

Medium Photo will continue adhering to all local Health Department guidelines. While we don’t know what these guidelines will include in May 2022, they may include a negative Covid-19 test within 72 hours prior to attendance. Updated information will be shared closer to the Festival.

Due to limited spots on this grant, there is a sign-up process. If more people request a lecture or event, then spots available, the winners will be chosen at random.
