Reminder: Attend Palm Springs Photography Festival On Us – apply by 8am on 2/20

Hi SWC Photo & Digital Students:

This email is going out to students who have filled out the student information form for the SWC Photo & Digital Imaging Program in Spring 2020.
This is an opportunity for Students to Attend Palm Springs Photography Festival. You must be currently enrolled in a Photo & Digital program class at SWC in order to be eligible.
We have 3 spots available.

2 spots will be reserved for students who are taking advanced classes: Art 206, 207, 210, 211, or 212 this semester.

1 spot will be open for students currently taking any of our classes. In addition to the courses above, this includes Art 192, or Art 205. This also includes a student taking a 214 series or 215 series lab as long as they are pursuing our AA in Photography & Digital Imaging or our Certificate In Professional Photography.

The Palm Springs Photography Festival will take place May 3-7.

Participants need to be able to leave SWC in the morning on May 3rd. We will return the evening of May 7th.

To use the van, you need to be able to attend that entire time.

The Strong Workforce Grant is covering the following:
Daily Registration Fee from May 3-7th.
“All seminar pass” for activities May 4-7
Here is a list of the Seminars:


Hotel stay (1 person per room) for 4 nights, May 3-6.

Breakfast, lunch, and Dinner on May 3rd-7th (only covers up to $45 per day)
Van Rental for the whole group to travel from Chula Vista to Palm Springs and back. Anyone not staying the entire time would have to provide their own transportation.

Also, included is 1 four-day workshop or 4 of one-day workshops. You will need to pick your preferences of workshops at the time you send in your application. Once accepted, the workshops cannot be changed.

Have you made the move to making movies?
Now’s your chance to show off your directorial dexterity at the upcoming screening roundtable discussion ‘Making The Move To Motion.’ Send us your 5-minute (max) motion project (on any topic) and join us on Thursday, February 20th for APA San Diego’s silver screen event. Popcorn and beverages will be served.

The most interesting and accomplished pieces will be selected and shown large, so compress to impress.

All levels of photographers and cinematographers are encouraged to join the night’s discussions.

To submit, please send a link to by February 17th.

We will screen as many submissions as possible.

1080p | .mp4 | Limit 2 submissions per person | Max 5 minutes long, including credits We are professionals and license our photos,
so be sure to license any music, etc., in your video
